No play list read this week, so I am not really sure what all is in here, I can identify some of it but not very much. Dreamy.

Ninety minutes of sounds and electromagnetic beams designed to influence the thoughts and feelings of innocent people. These are mp3 files of random programs from the collection.
Image via WikipediaNoise is everywhere. And in 1988, noise music was gaining in acoustic prominence as well. So, this program takes an opportunity to explore that new noise, and it leads to laughter, contemplation and an often odd coincidence of how noises come together. For the serious noise enthusiast only. Oh, and this is all sparked by the Negativland release "Escape from noise."

Image by Intersection Consulting via FlickrWhoa, more noise from the late 1980's. Good combination of international and local noise, and especially featuring the voice of Robert Tilton, Texas television evangelist.
Image by movimente via FlickrA mixture of new industrial music along with a lot of new music being produced in Burlington by local "artists." This is an interesting look at a very interesting musical scene, along with the addition of other musical influences from other locations.
Image by mararie via FlickrAnother January sign up show and I was having a lot of fun exploring different kinds of sounds and their juxtaposition. As William S. Burroughs said, "When you cut into the present, the future leaks out." Thus, this program. Snippets and collage, but also the Insect Musicians project by Graeme Revell. Also, watch out for the subliminal messages behind the music here.
Image by sirwiseowl via FlickrJanuary and students are not yet back on campus. WRUV-FM is in sign up mode, and I have signed up for this morning program to get things started. This is not too abrupt a beginning, however, and intends to try and set a mood for morning, in my own demented way. Mostly continental and European.
Cover of Test Dept.A flock of new songs and new artists, but it is all in the same vein. Interesting. Oh, the more it changes, the more it stays the same. But, I like it, even some 20+ years later.

Image by Carl MiKoy via FlickrBy cool and calm I think I actually mean frozen and immobile. Stuck in an icy cave all you can do is think about things in a passive way because you are trapped. This is a Sunday evening show I did to fill in the schedule. Nothing too raw this time.
Image by Ian Hayhurst via FlickrAh, Friday night evening radio in Burlington and the year is 1987. Lots of fun with sounds and also fun with politics.
Image by 416style via FlickrAs the title indicates, I never got around to putting a title on this week. It clearly deserves one, but I will let this stand as an invitation to discovery.
Cover of Roy RogersWho is going to inspire me when you are gone? A good question, asked at the end of the program, and not answered during the program. Comings and goings are important, and this going was a challenge for my radio career, since I had learned most of what I knew about radio from this person.
