Image via WikipediaAs you probably know, music from the On-U label has been one of my favorite acoustic categories. It was so good that selections from that label made it on to both sides of my radio show -- the Reggae and the experimental, in a fusion that I found very exciting. The use of production techniques and samples also made these songs very innovative at the time. They may not be so innovative now, but they still rock very hard and have an enduring political edge.Musical assemblages include: Gary Clail and the On-U Sound System, Mark Stewart and the Maffia, Andy Fairley, Invisible Spike, Voice of Authority, Barmy Army, Tackhead, DJ Spike, and then a little non On-U with Kraftwerk.
