1984-05-30 Joy Division Salute
I was sitting on my porch in Mexico December 2005 listening to the BBC world service on my xm satellite radio and they had a program to talk about the most influential groups since the Beatles. They spent the most time on Joy Division. I am not sure I would agree or disagree, but they were very important to me. They only existed for a few brief years in the 1980’s before the suicide of the lead singer Ian Curtis caused the band to change and reform as New Order. I still listen to them quite often, as there is something hauntingly appealing in their dark music and lyrics.
Here is a copy of the 1984 Joy Division salute I did on WRUV. To listen, just click on the link below, or right click to save it to your hard drive.
